Waking Up

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

I’ll admit, I got caught up in “life”, and burned out from some stressful back-to-back issues with dog health and a mid-life…well, not crisis, exactly, but I definitely lost my head and focus there for a bit.

I also had to stop reading and writing romance for a while, due to some other things I was dealing with mentally. It was…too much at the time, and not something I care to discuss directly, but I needed to keep my thoughts and emotions in check.

Healthy or not, that’s the way I chose to deal with the situation, and I have no regrets. I’m also in a much better place now, and I’ve been reading and writing about connections and affection and desire again, and really quite enjoying it on a deeper level than I did before.

When I was younger, I had a fairly simplistic view of affection, love, desire and sensuality. Now that I’m older, I think that’s changed and morphed into something much richer and more complex. I also have a deeper understanding and empathy for different types of relationships, whether or not it’s something I would want for myself. And that’s invaluable perspective, I think.

I’ve been working on a little something you might enjoy – it should be ready about the time I’m ready to re-launch my newsletter, The Naughty List, in a few weeks. I’ll also be blogging here regularly again – once a week, and of course you can subscribe via email for that as well, if you choose.

In the meantime, if you’re reading this, that means you’ve probably kept a lookout either here on the blog, or on my social media accounts, or you’re already an email subscriber. And for that, I thank you!

Stay tuned for new fiction…”coming” soon.
