As I mentioned last Friday, I’m moving this year’s serial story to the newsletter. It will include monthly installments sent the last week of each month, and in December, subscribers will receive the entire story all polished up and publication-ready before anyone else gets to see it. So if you’re interested in following this year’s serial draft, please sign up for The Naughty List before the end of the month.
I’m excited about the new story – it will be set here in my home state of Montana, in the fictional north-eastern town of Meadowlark. The series will be called Meadowlark After Dark, and this year’s story will be about a mechanic and a computer geek. I hope you’ll like reading it as much as I enjoy writing it…
The edited, polished up version of The Bedrock Arrangement should be releasing around Valentine’s Day, if all goes well. It will be off to the editor very soon. Hopefully I’ll have some cover art to share soon as well!
The next story in the Unconventional Arrangements series is going to explore the world of menage relationships. I’m not entirely comfortable with this, as for me personally, I have a hard time believing that they can work long term, given the natural human ego and instinctual drives, but I’m also open to the idea that for others, it’s entirely possible that they work beautifully for the long term. This is why I write…I very rarely write what I know, but rather choose to explore things I don’t understand. Writing is often very clarifying for me – it helps me to see things through a lens I may not otherwise have been able to look through, as odd as that sounds. My characters are often very different from me, as far as how they think and the decisions they make. Odd, but somehow it works.
Even given my discomfort with the subject, I’m excited to start working on the story in the next few months. If all goes well, it should be ready for release in July.
One of my goals for this year is to post a general topic blog post here once a week on Thursdays, so if there’s a topic you’d like to discuss here, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments or email me.
That’s all for now – see you next week!
